We started off the new year by discussing last year. Many realisations came out of this. Marlene felt that she hadn't produced as much fruit as she had in past years but we all disagreed with her on this as her journey this year has been a testimony to all of us. She might not have been as busy as she was in previous years but she certainly changed a lot of things in her life and got rid of the things that are holding her back. She has been "preparing for rain" as she said earlier this year. Some of us have had huge mindset changes this year, right down to doubting everything we have been taught about Christianity and starting over again, seeking the truth.
We then went on to discuss where we would like to be at the end of 2009. Interesting stuff. Some want to take one small step at a time and others are getting ready to jump out of the nest. Jean-Pierre raised a point. Are you in the center of God's work or is God's work in the center of you? It is not about the work that we can do but about becoming an instrument in His hand. This was interesting and led to us touching on sending. Can we be full-time senders? What does a full-time sender look like. Can they give away everything and how do they then live? What do they do with their time? It can only work if He supplies it all. My mind is already being to reel just by typing this. This is something that we definitely need to revisit as we only touched on it and and went away with questions screaming for answers. I sense that this topic will definitely bring on another significant mindset change. Can't wait........
I am personally SSSOOOO excited for this New Year, I can't wait to see what God has in store for me this year... and if its going to start off with watching the Matrix with lotsa friends and even more popcorn.... well ja no fine!
ReplyDeleteI watched about five minutes of The Matrix a year ago and thought it was awful but after watching the whole movie last night through different "glasses" I really enjoyed it. It gave me a lot to think about. Wow!
